  1. Marvin,

Thanks for the tip! Concept is king.

Title / logline / visualize the trailer.

Changed my writing this year to focus on this and glad to hear I’m heading in the right direction.

  3. Hi, Marvin:

I totally agree. Thanks for the confirmation. For years I had a couple of BIG ideas for scripts– so big that I was intimidated, by one in particular. Finally I took that bull by the horns, and I believe I am a better writer for it.

    Thanks for your GREAT advice!

  6. great tips as always! i have written three small idea films which people keep saying are great, great, great but no one is actually biting. i am so frustrated at times, i want to cry. and at times i have. so after hearing this, it makes sense to me what the real deal is. money. and money isnt in the smaller ideas at first. sooooooooooo….back to the drawing board armed with a better strategy.

  9. Great advice…it is the reality…and it is a business…and that is the Market…and yes become Extremely successful and you too could then do your ‘Schindlers List as Spielberg is a PERFECT example of this high concept …road to eventually making films you also have a personal interest…

    Thank you Marvin…

    Sincerely

  10. Marvin,
Rumor has it you’re going to be taking pitches and speaking at the 2009 Screenwriting Conference in Santa Fe this coming May. Is that so? Will I be able to read what you’re speaking about if I go to their http://www.SCSFe.com website???
This blatant plug presented by Larry N Stouffer, Founder/Executive Director of SCSFe.

  11. One question, didn\’t their experience in writing for indies help them land the blockbuster movie deal and high powered agency?

In other words, by writing small, didn\’t they continue to add to their resume?

Thanks for the tip, your contribution really helps so kudos to you. My question is is there any way we can contact you with scripts?

  13. Hi,

Unfortunately I missed the live interview with Lucia Cottone, is there any way you can address some of the points or the key points? It looked like something I shouldn’t have missed so I’m kicking myself!
